Every year from July to  September – Gromit makes his return to Bristol with the spectacular Wallace and Gromit Tour.  In 2018 He will be joined by his pal Wallace and rival Feathers McGraw, as they once again take up residence in Bristol and the surrounding area to raise money for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.  The dazzling, colourful award-winning trio will be dotted around the city and perfect for a Grand Day Out. 

You can download the interactive trail app and unlock special trophies and collect rewards whilst tracking down the sculptures, its the perfect way to explore the city, see landmarks and finds place you’ve never been to before.  You can pick up a paper map from several locations around Bristol including our GU shop at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Bristol Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre, M Shed, Tourist Information Centre, Aerospace Bristol and the Gromit Unleashed HQ on Upper Maudlin Street.  We have the official paper Trail Map here a Bury Hill Farm for guests too. Gromit Unleashed 2018 Bristol

During the summer holidays on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays FREE shows will be taking place at the Mall Cribb Causeway, of classic Aardman animations at their pop up cinema.  Each show is 30 minutes long, there’s no need to book, just turn up on the day.  The cinema will be located outside the Mall either by the entrance of topshop, M&S or inside if it is raining.  The Gromit Unleashed shop is also at the Mall, the only place to buy all the official Trail merchandise, a perfect change to purchase a Wallace or Gromit of your own.

The Grant Appeal has been raising money since 1995, with this annual themed trial, to help fund life-saving medical equipment and provides free accommodation to families of critically ill patients.

St Nicolas Market

St Nicolas Market is a lively market place found in the heart of the old part of the city.  It was established in 1743 and is the oldest and most popular market in Bristol.  Located at the top of Corn Street in “The Exchange Building”.  It has been named one of the ten best markets in the UK and Britain’s Best Large indoor Market in 2016.  It is quintessential of what a market should be and home to the largest collection of independent retailers in Bristol, making it one of Bristol top attractions.

Its historical architecture, quirky ambience and fantastic stalls bursting with a wide variety of goods, crafts and street food combine to make the perfect place to shop, wander, eat, relax and enjoy. With over 60 independent stalls, with things you just wouldn’t find in regular shops this market is a must see for any visitor to the city.  St Nicholas Market is also home to several outdoor markets which take place in the pedestrian street which is alongside The Exchange Building.

Bristol Museum and Arts Gallery

Bristol Museum is a large museum and art gallery in Bristol and has an outstanding collection of art and archaeology, geology and natural history, housed in a magnificent Edwardian baroque building.

Take a journey through Belief, Life, Death and Afterlife of the ancient Egyptians in the new Egypt Gallery. The gallery features over 600 objects, most never displayed before, in the best Egyptian collection in the south west. 
The River Nile corridor divides the gallery space into two. On one side, you can explore Belief and Life in ancient Egypt, and on the other, displays cover Death and the Afterlife. In addition, there are “satellite” areas offering thought-provoking areas on ‘Egyptian Identity’, ‘How do we see Ancient Egypt?’,

In 2009 the museum hosted an exhibition by Banksy, featuring more than 70 works of art, including animatronics and installations; it was his largest exhibition yet. It was developed in secrecy and with no advance publicity, but soon gained worldwide notoriety.

Museum & Art Gallery run a programme of free and paid events throughout the year that include multi week exhibitions, workshops and drop in gallery curator talks. The biggest annual event is the weekend celebration for Chinese New Year during February which has dancing dragon and lion performances, martial arts, traditional Chinese dances, storytelling, family trails, arts and craft activities.

Bristol Art Gallery

Bristol Hippodrome

A theatre right in the Centre of Bristol, with 3 levels and a capacity of nearly 2000 seats.  It features West End theatre shows when they tour the UK, Operas, children’s shows and annual pantomimes.

 The theatre was opened in December 1912, it survived World War 2.  The stage is one of the largest outside of London and plays host to many top shows, such as Wicked, Mice and Men, Blood Brothers, Cats, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia, Guy and Dolls. It also has comedians shows such as Frankie Boyle, Lee Mack and children’s shows such as Frozen, Peppa Pig’s Adventure, Mary Poppins, to name just a few.

Bristol Flea Market

Now in its 5th year Bristol Flea Market is the place to go if you are looking for quality antiques, vintage, retro, industrial look, furnishings, furniture or pretty much anything second hand and unique.  There are a great group of traders who love what they do and bring their weird, wacky and a amazing goods to the Market.   The trader are very friendly and love to have a chat.  Definitely a place to visit.  Markets are held every Saturday.
