Roman Baths
The Ancient Roman Baths is the towns sightseeing centre piece. This ancient roman pool is still lined with its original lead, you almost imagine those romans lounging around and enjoying their wine just like they did when they were in Rome. Today a fine museum surrounds the ancient bath. The hot thermal water still bubbles as has for nearly 2 thousand years through ancient roman bricks. The Romans believed that this was the mystical work of the Gods, but we now know that the water source comes from a spring.
Above the baths is an elegant restaurant call the Pump Room offering fancy 3 tiered afternoon teas or try the special bath mineral water, which contains 42 minerals and is believed to have healing powers.

Bath Abbey
Bath Abbey is the last great medieval church to be build in England. Building work began around 1499, but it was not completed until 1616, meaning it took nearly 120 years for start to finish. The Abbey was built in a gothic perpendicular style and the beautiful ceiling is considered to be one of the finest examples of fan vaulting in the country. There are over 1400 memorials at Bath Abbey, only Westminster has more.
