The New Inn, Mayshill, Frampton Cotterell

Traditional Pub New Inn Mays Hill Bristol by Bury Hill Farm

A traditional pub well know for it’s delicious food.  It’s an authentic, family friendly pub with lovely helpful staff and lots of choices of wines, beers and ciders.  The food is fresh, seasonal and the portions are very big.

The Pub was originally built as a rest-stop for travellers, travelling north from Bristol to Chipping Sodbury.  It is a unique, 17th  Century Inn with rustic charm.  I superb example of an historic Coaching Inn.  A plaque bearing the date 1655 was discovered above the fireplace in an upstairs room and is now displayed on the wall of the bar.  Although renovated and sympathetically modernised, many fittings and the unevenness of the floors and ceilings ensure that much of the New Inn’s over 400 year old character remains.

The New Inn has relaxed seating as you walk through the main door, with comfy chairs and a log burning fire the entrance is at the side of the building, straight from the car park.  There is also seating by the bar and more formal seating in the rooms past the bar.  All sizes of groups are catered for.

Meals are cooked to order with most of the dishes being prepared “in house”, they advise that there could be delays at busy times.  The menu has a great selection for everyone.  A set large party menu is available for groups of 11 or more.

Address – Badminton Rd, Frampton Cotterell, Bristol BS36 2NT – Tel: 01454 773161 – 5 minutes’ drive along the Badminton Road (A432)  – Visit Our Bristol Guide for more detailed information.
